Loss does not vanish; it takes shape. It settles into the spaces we no longer fill, into habits broken and names left unspoken. What we lost becomes an outline we learn to live around, a presence defined by absence. Its shape changes over time—sharp at first, then slowly softened by memory and understanding. We trace it in quiet moments, recognizing how it has altered the way we move forward. Loss teaches the heart to adapt, to carry weight without collapsing. It reshapes desire, redefines hope, and clarifies what truly mattered. Though nothing can replace what is gone, something new forms in its place: awareness, resilience, and a deeper sense of self. The shape of what we lost becomes part of who we are, not as a wound that constantly bleeds, but as a contour that guides us. In learning its shape, we learn how to live with honesty, courage, and a quiet acceptance of change.
