Ramadan has finally arrived..
We have long awaited it, hoping it would come and mend our weary hearts, help us gather our scattered selves, purify us, and wash away our sins.
We yearned for it as parched land yearns for rain, hoping it would come and quench our hearts with the breezes of its faith.
The most beautiful thirty days of the year, filled with spirituality..
Its nights overflow with light and warmth.
We have always awaited it with longing and yearning.
We cry out from the depths of our hearts and implore it :
Ramadan, come and mend what the whole year has broken in our hearts..
Come and erase the traces of every pain that life has caused us…
Come and grant us a feeling that we find only through you..
Just once a year.
Please hasten your arrival, and do not hasten your departure…
Illuminate the darkness of harsh nights that have passed.
And pierce the gloom of our hearts, weary from the trials of life..
Ramadan, O light that spreads across the horizon..
O most beautiful gift from the Lord of the Worlds.
O radiance that dwell in our souls when it arrives.
O most beautiful guest of the year.
O crescent moon, we awaited with all love and longing..
Thank you for your arrival, for your spirituality… for your tranquility… for your order…
For your fasting… for your prayers, for your glorification of God, for your Quran, and for every beautiful thing we experience through you.
Congratulations to us for having you, O, most beautiful divine gift!
May God help us to fulfill your purpose in a way that pleases Him.
May God make you a means of forgiveness for our sins,
a purification of our hearts and a refinement of our souls.
May He grant us to emerge from you with our sins forgiven, freed from the Fire.
May God preserve you for us for many years to come, and may He bring back your days with goodness, prosperity, and blessings, O Lord of the Worlds.
