Sectarianism is the act of dividing people based on religion, ethnicity, or identity and treating one group as superior to others. It often begins with words, stereotypes, and hostile attitudes, but it can grow into deep social conflict. Instead of encouraging understanding, sectarian thinking creates fear, suspicion, and hostility among communities that should live together peacefully. History shows that societies weakened by sectarianism struggle to achieve stability and justice. A healthy society values diversity and respects differences rather than turning them into reasons for division. Overcoming sectarianism requires education, empathy, and a commitment to dialogue, tolerance, and shared human values.
