My dear pen, I come to you with all my hope that you will help me soar with you, far away from everything. I come to you with nothing: no energy, no passion, no ability, no courage, no enthusiasm, and no life. I come to you with a weary soul and a wounded body, perhaps filled with hope, perhaps fear, perhaps helplessness.

Do you know the most painful feeling a person can experience in the world?

It is the feeling of utter helplessness. When you are powerless and without strength.

When you look at something and don’t know how to reach it to lean on it… When you look at a part of yourself and don’t know how to embrace it and hide within it from life’s harshness… You try to find in its eyes a hope that will make you rise again for its sake… When you can’t fix anything around you because of your inability..

When your greatest dream is simply to move…

When you can’t sleep because of the intense pain…

When all you have is prayer and fleeting hope… When all you can do is remain silent and wait, not out of a desire to surrender, but out of patience and acceptance.

We always say that health is the most precious thing in life, but in truth, we only realize its true value when illness strikes. We feel that life is far less precious than we thought it was.

Likewise, when we see death take people from us, we feel the insignificance of life and that it is worthless.

They say if you want to know the value of health, visit hospitals.

And if you want to know the value of life, visit cemeteries.

When you feel ill, you realize the value of the blessing of health that God previously bestowed upon you… You see everything around you as small.

You find yourself at your weakest, with no desire for anything except to hope for recovery or to succumb to sheer exhaustion.

There will inevitably come moments when you are weary of everything: helplessness, trying, and everything.
