In Enchanting Love
I wander along the pavements of misery,
clutching a piece of worn-out chalk
with which I sketch the margins of salvation,
and pluck from my hat
flocks of pigeons,
and hide my loved ones in a bag,
and close the novel like a postponed funeral
then walk as one who has never met me before, denying my very self!
