Wissam, the writer, sits in a quiet café, greeted by Basma, the journalist, with a smile.

Basma: Wissam, I’ve heard a lot about your novels. Today, I want to know more about you.

Wissam: Thank you, I’m happy to meet you. How can I help you?

Basma: I have a question. What inspires you to write your novels?

Wissam: There is a similarity between the sea and ink in that both place us before the goal of creativity.

Basma: How do you mean?

Wissam: It’s as if they are saying, “There is something worth telling.”

Basma: That’s wonderful. How do you find your ideas?

Wissam: By reflecting on life, people, situations… Everything can be material for writing.

Basma: Your novels are known for their depth. What is the secret behind this depth?

Wissam: I think it comes from trying to understand the world around me and then trying to express that understanding.

Basma: A final word to your readers.

Wissam: I would say to them: there is always something worth telling, so don’t stop writing and reading.
