How could we be so easily dismissed?
How could anyone take our pain so lightly?
What have we done to deserve this?
We’ve been overly kind and naively innocent.
Why do we endure pain time and again, only to return to it again?
Why is it that our hearts can’t bear to hurt someone?
Why is it that we don’t know how to let go?
Why do we apologize even for mistakes we never committed?
What is our fault in the hearts of those who might wrong us?
Was it our fault that we forgave, or that we had good intentions?
Or are we truly simply naive?
We will continue to suffer as long as our hearts care for everyone but themselves.
