My friend, morning… do you know what I wish for?
If I could, I would soothe the pain of every loved one who suffers as I do.
I would share their grief and the sorrow of their heart.
I would heal both my wounds and theirs.
I would apologize to them for life’s cruelty and fate’s treachery.
I would tell them that I feel for them.
If it were up to me, I would gather the fragrance of gardens into a single flower and offer it to every heart burdened by sorrow.
If I could, my hand would be a refuge, offering safety and warmth to all who are weary.
If I had the power, I would leave no face on earth without a smile, nor any heart without joy.
O God, use us and do not replace us.
O God, make us a positive influence, a light that never fades, and a source of joy that we plant in the hearts of all Your creation.
In the end,
All we truly possess in this world is the impact we leave behind,
and the smiles we plant.
So be like the morning;
bringing goodness,
and departing in peace,
leaving in hearts a light that never fades.
