Liberals believe that governments should protect citizens’ rights while allowing individuals to make their own choices. In economics, liberalism often encourages free markets, although many modern liberals also support government action to reduce poverty and provide public services. Overall, liberalism aims to create a society where people enjoy liberty, justice, tolerance, and the opportunity to improve their lives peacefully and fairly.
