Once upon a time, in a quiet village, there lived a little lantern named Luma. Every evening, the people of the village would light her, and she would shine happily on the cobblestone streets.

One night, as Luma was glowing softly, she noticed a tiny star falling from the sky. The star landed in the grass, looking frightened and small.

“Don’t be afraid,” whispered Luma. “I will help you.”

The star shivered. “I fell from the sky, and now I can’t find my way home.”

Luma thought for a moment. Though she could not fly, she knew she could shine brightly. “If I shine as high as I can, maybe your family of stars will see us!”

So Luma glowed brighter than she ever had before. Her golden light reached the sky, and soon the star’s brothers and sisters twinkled back in reply.

A gentle breeze lifted the little star higher and higher, until it floated back into the sky.

“Thank you, Luma!” the star called. “You’re small, but your light is mighty.”

From that night on, whenever the lantern shone, the stars above would twinkle extra brightly—because they remembered their little friend on the ground.
