The worst thing we do to our minds, sir, is to treat books as mere entertainment, immersing ourselves in pages that distract us rather than elevate us. A mind that is satisfied with superficiality is deprived of the elevation that could have opened the doors of knowledge to it, and thus we lose the essence of reading: to broaden our horizons and enrich our souls before entertaining us.
