Far away in the deep blue sky, there lived a tiny star named Luma. She was the smallest star in her constellation, but she had the biggest heart. Every night, Luma shone as bright as she could to guide the sailors on the sea and children who wished upon the stars before bed.

One evening, the Moon told her softly, “Luma, every star has a final journey. When your light fades, you’ll fall to Earth and bring hope to someone in need.”

Luma felt both scared and curious. She loved the sky, but she wanted to know what it meant to bring hope. So she waited, shining brighter than ever.

One stormy night, she saw a little boy sitting by his window, crying. His home had been washed away by the flood. “I wish I had a light,” he whispered, “so I wouldn’t be afraid.”

Hearing this, Luma felt a warm glow inside her. “This is my time,” she said. She took a deep breath, twinkled one last time, and fell gently from the sky, landing right in the boy’s hands as a glowing crystal.

The boy smiled, his tears drying. “A star came for me!” he said. From that night on, he kept the crystal by his bed, and it never stopped glowing—just like Luma’s love and courage.

And though Luma’s place in the sky was now empty, the Moon often whispered to the other stars,

“Even the smallest light can make the darkest night bright.”
