Tears shed in the eyes are painful, but tears shed in the heart are even more so. How cruel it is when both are inflicted upon you.
Oh God, those moments of weeping are harsh, intensely painful, especially after prolonged suppression and immense pressure!
It’s as if you’re waiting for the chance to be alone with yourself, to unleash a bitter outburst of tears… to the point where you feel as if your heart is screaming within your ribs, almost bursting from your chest.
Your sobs are almost deafening, a torrent of unspoken anguish. Your tears fall like ceaseless rain, as if you’re on the verge of complete collapse.
You’re utterly bewildered… Was all of this inside me, and did it need to be released?! Is it the weight of silence and suppression that drives us to this?!
Is it the pressure and endurance that lead us to this state?!
We push ourselves to an unbearable degree, until the final straw breaks our backs and we explode in an instant!
We endure, our hearts aching with the pain of pressure, our minds screaming with exhaustion, yet we ignore all those voices within us pleading for compassion.
When eyes and hearts weep, they unite in a single language, attempting to express their inner turmoil and transcend the boundaries of silence, as if rebelling against the situation.
When you lose control over them, know that the situation has become far too extreme, perhaps long ago without your realizing it.
If we don’t have mercy on ourselves, who will?
If we don’t gather the pieces of ourselves, who can restore us to who we truly are?
If we don’t awaken, no one on earth can awaken us.
It is up to us to care for ourselves, to give our bodies the rest they need, to heal our hearts, to rest even for a while, and to learn to say no when we are tired. After all, we are human and we have our limits; we are not superheroes who need to hold a magic wand and solve all the world’s problems.
We must realize that if we don’t find security within ourselves, we won’t find it in anything around us.
If we don’t seek happiness, it won’t come to us on its own.
And if we don’t banish despair, it won’t leave us of its own accord.
